Andy C is one of the biggest and most popular jungle/drum and bass DJs ever. Also a prolific producer an co-founder of record label RAM Records, Andy C. has been a pioneering drum and bass DJ since the genre’s emergence in the early ’90s. Consistently voted World’s Greatest Drum and Bass DJ, Andy C. specializes in fast mixing, often employing three turntables, and is known for mixing established classics with cutting edge releases.
Andy C’s record label RAM Records was started with Ant Miles in 1992 and is based in Hornchurch, Essex, United Kingdom. RAM Records consists of DJs and producers: Shimon, Red One, Moving Fusion and DJ Fresh (formerly of Bad Company (drum and bass artist)). Some of RAM Records’ most popular releases of recent times are Night Breed’s “Pack Of Wolves”, Fresh’s “Hooded”, Fresh’s “Capture the Flag”, and Shimons “Grudge Match”.

the last couple of years, their stage had the best sound system at all of Coachella.

On a rig like Pure Filth‘s, dubstep comes to life, lumbering at you like a mutant animal from a feral dream, with fur and horns and claws and big teeth and wild eyes and a crushing gate.
I can’t say enough good things about Kode 9. His set was in the “dome” area, which on this 2nd night of the festival was being hosted by the Pure Filth Sound System, who have one of the most incredible sound set ups I’ve ever seen.
PURE FILTH IS MY FAV SOUNDSYSTEM!!!!!!!!!! On this planet!!!! But yea pure filth is a gift and a curse its bless 2 have a sound man like Sam XL who overstands both the performer and dj aspect of wanting 2 mash up the party with the HEAVIEST SOUND but still being able 2 maintain that soundman watch the red 2 much high 2 much bass thing yea like the performer is the pilot and sam xl is like the perfect wingman. And the curse is 4 the other soundsystems and soundman cause im so used 2 pushing the sound that i usually blow up overheat and piss off other soundsystems cause im used 2 pure filth sound and sam xl on the boards haha - Ras G

A unique producer with a unique style, Goth-Trad (of Rebel Familia) has emerged from the Japanese electronic scene in the last few years as one of the most arresting artists from his generation. Freely playing samplers, keyboards and even self-made instruments, ‘The Sound Originator’ Goth-Trad creates remarkable dance music with an abstract approach.
From abstract electronica to noise, from dub and reggae to jungle and rave music, grime to dubstep, Goth-Trad has always experimented and in the process developed his own unique style: blending influences and delivering music that is constantly evolving.
Invited by Mala in 2007 to play at the now legendary DMZ night, Goth-Trad became the first artist to play a live show at the event, showcasing his own take on the sound pioneered by so many of the DJs and producers who have appeared on the bill in the past. His eclectic and varied live show received an exceptional reception from the crowd, showing how far his sound had travelled since he started more than ten years ago.
As Hyperdub label head Kode 9 put it ‘Goth-Trad is a one-man army’, relentlessly working on spreading his music as far and to as many people as possible.

Amongst the throng of beatboxers emerging today, there are few like Beardyman. A tirelessly innovative performer, Beardyman has always pushed the boundaries of what people expect from human beatbox, merging phenomenal beatbox skills with his left-field sense of humour and incredible musicality.
In his live shows, as well as baffllingly good solo human-beatbox, he utilzes cutting-edge sound-mangling technology to create dance-inducing layered rhythms, breath-taking soundscapes, fully produced songs and tunes, all improvised and created entirely from the human voice. No pre-recorded material is used, and everything is created live and in real time in front of the audience, who he takes on a mind-bending journey from dumbstruck to dancing and back again.

Joining us at the Pure Filth Bass Oasis this year at Coachella is KODE9, dubstep don extraordinaire who hand an early hand in the UK dubstep scene and runs the Hyperdub label. A Pure Filth favorite, Kode9 is influenced heavy by dub, reggae, dancehall and jungle and slings a fat mix of top-class tunes.

Kode9 came from another level though. His beats seeped out of a haunted home, crawling out of the dark shadows and up onto the dance floor, grabbing our ankles and our brains. His set was a searching introspection of the state of human existence, an aural illumination of the nihilistic free-fall through modernity that no one can stop. Kode9′s music speaks to a place in the furthest reaches of our consciousness, to the deepest parts of our heads and our bodies that still recall the tens of thousands of years of evolution when we danced to heavy drum beats on the African savannah in celebration of a hunt or a birth or a death… It all goes back to the bass. Way back.
Kode9 goes there, with no reserves or apologies. He digs it up and lays it out raw and unfiltered. The wacky mix of minor chords and driving rhythms made me wish I was dancing in a back alley of London, full of trash and buck-toothed rats and bums and leaky boxes, embracing the dirtiness of human existence, squatting in a filthy warehouse and making soup on a single propane burner to share with my new, unbathed friends. Yeah. It was that grimey and that real.
Kode9′s music makes you embrace the dark side of human nature, the evil emperor within us all- a welcome out-breath. Dancing last night my knees just bent deeper and deeper until I was practically in the final stanzas of “Shout” (get a little bit softer now); perhaps it was my subconscious effort to get closer to the earth, the roots, the black dog within me. It worked.
