SCREWFACE Debut Party a Smashing Success!
A giant thank you to everyone who came out this past Friday night for the bass euphoria and mad talent on lock at Club Gabah.
From Drone’s opening drum and bass set and The Professionals’ steazy selection of bangers to Samiyam slouched-down hip hop and Lorn’s rib-crushing battle beats, it was a solid night of top notch music from start to finish.

NEW PURE FILTH Friday Night Weekly: SCREWFACE Kicks Off January 28
Pure Filth’s new weekly event SCREWFACE kicks off with a boom on Friday, January 28 at Club Gabah in Hollywood.
The lineup for the month of January is downright destructive and includes a heavy cast of out-of-town talent and locals we love: Lorn, AK1200, Jakes, Kyle Hall, DJ Lee + The Professionals, Daddy Kev, Ras G, Samiyam, DLX, Novocaine9, Magi, MC Kemst + more special guests TBA.
And of course it wouldn’t be a party without, YOU, the Pure Filth community, out on the dance floor with all of your cells turning to jelly from the mad delicious bass! Come out for SCREWFACE’s opening night and celebrate your soundsystem culture at its finest!

SCREWFACE Artist Spotlight: SAMIYAM
Since the year 2004, Sam has been the proud owner of two midi cables. They are currently in his closet under some other shit.
SOUNDS LIKE: Got a gun, screwdriver, knife and shank – plus I break face bones with my platinum rings.
Such is SAMIYAM‘s bio on his social media sites; this soulful joker of the Brainfeeder clan has garnered an international following for his shifty, slouchy, street-infused beats. Funky and disjointed, SAMIYAM’s music thumps with a hip hop backbone and swaggers into the future through a smoky cloud of jazz influences and a twisted sensibility.
With a wide sweep of inspiration from video games to Italian horror movies to Michael Jackson, SAMIYAM unravels sounds then shoves them back together in clever new ways. His music mutates and then takes shape into a hard and sloppy sonic experience, textured by wet beats that drip with soul. Like concrete smashing through a dirty window, the sound of SAMIYAM shatters expectations, and if you listen closely to the fragmented shards of bouncing street bass- you can hear his swag.
