Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC Radio1 – L.A. Volcano Refugee Special

As many of you have heard, the BBC’s own Mary Anne Hobbs has been stuck in the US ever since the volcanic eruption in Iceland disrupted air travel in and out of Western Europe. Since she was unable to be back in the UK to broadcast her weekly radio show, she decided to a special remote broadcast episode of her radio show this past week from the Pure Filth Studios. Featuring some of LA’s most hotly-tipped producers and DJs currently making the rounds, this episode of her Experimental show is not one to miss! It features the likes of Flying Lotus, Daedelus, Ras G, Take, Tokimonsta, and more!

Sat. May 1st: BASSFACE w/ SEVEN @ Lot 613

The next installment of BASSFACE goes down this Saturday May 1st at Lot 613 in Downtown LA! This time around we have SEVEN, a member of the Tempa family and a dubstep artist who you may also recognize under his Drum & Bass moniker — Eddy Woo of Ram Records. Also performing are Jaybird of Kraken Records and Belgian Bombadub artist Knorsq. The Professionals, fresh off multiple sets at Coachella 2010, round out the lineup for a night of earthshakin’ bass as Brainfeeder’s own Dr. Strangeloop provides the night’s visual entertainment!

Doors are at 9PM and this is a 21+ event, so don’t forget your ID! It’s only $10 at the door before 11PM and $15 the rest of the night. Lot 613 features fully stocked bars, an outside smoking patio, and food. The Pure Filth Soundsystem will be in full effect at this night, so come prepared for a loud night in front of the bassbins!

Sat. 4/24 – Pure Filth & Hench Present Sonic Sound!

Pure Filth and the mighty Hench Recordings are partnering to bring you a big bass event on short notice! Due to the volcanic eruption that has disrupted international air travel over the past week, several of the UKs biggest bass artists are here in the US for an extended period of time, so let’s show them a great time while they’re stateside!

The event is called SONIC SOUND: The Coachella Comedown and features some of the artists Pure Filth hosted on the campground pavilion stage in Indio this past weekend. Join us as we welcome the one and only Jakes for an extended 2 hour set alongside the BBC’s very own Mary Anne Hobbs, progenitor of dubstep and bass music worldwide. Local support is provided by The Professionals, Deco, DLX, and MC Kemst.

Coachella: BASSFACE Camping Sessions!

Pure Filth is happy to announce that we are back at Coachella to host a stage for the 2nd year in a row! We had a lot of support during last year’s sessions inside the dome and for 2010 we’re excited to be holding down the Campground Pavilion on Friday April 16th and Saturday April 17th! We get started at 9PM both nights and each evening we’re bringing you some of the top names in bass-heavy music. Friday features the BBC’s very own Mary Anne Hobbs alongside Ninja Tune recording artist Daedelus and Low End Theory mainstay The Gaslamp Killer! Also playing Friday night are Low End brethren Nobody, Ras G and Samiyam as well as Pure Filth don Sam XL. Saturday night has an entirely different lineup featuring the likes of Flying Lotus (Warp Records), Jakes (Hench Recordings), Nosaj Thing, The Professionals, Take, Free The Robots, Deco and DLX!

It all pops off at 9PM and runs straight through until 3AM for those that are still craving some more music after the main event. Follow your eyes and ears to the Campground Pavilion at the heart of the Coachella Campgrounds, join as we dance under the stars because ALL ARE WELCOME!
